Read MoreGlenn Landry has studied circadian rhythms and sleep for over 20 years.
He completed his graduate research at Simon Fraser University, examining circadian mechanisms of entrainment, supervised by Dr. Ralph Mistlberger and supported by grants from MSFHR and NSERC.
He then focused his research efforts on sleep, aging and cognition as a CIHR postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Teresa Liu-Ambrose’s Aging, Mobility, and Cognitive Neuroscience Lab at UBC. His research there explored age-related changes in sleep duration, efficiency and architecture that contribute to or accelerate cognitive decline in older adults.
As an academic, Glenn’s goal was to develop chronotherapeutic interventions capable of delaying cognitive decline in older adults, with the objective of improving quality of life, productivity, and extending capacity for independent living.
Now in private practice, Glenn is a sleep coach. He works with older adults, shift workers, and families to improve physical and mental health through better sleep quality by translating sleep science into practical interventions tailored to each client.

Read MoreKatrina became a wildland firefighter in 2012 and in her rookie year her hand crew in Northern California racked up more than 800 hours of overtime, including 47 straight paid days in four and a half months.
That summer was an incredible time for her. She saw so much fire and was getting stronger every day and knew that she had found a job she wanted to keep doing season after season.
Her website The 5ft Firefighter was born out of her personal experiences from nine seasons as a federal wildland firefighter on hand crews, engines, and details on hotshot and helitack crews, as well as six years as a volunteer structure firefighter on a department that responds to local wildland fires. It aims to demystify the federal wildland firefighter application process and offers intensive information on minimum requirements and what it’s actually like to be a wildland firefighter.
She has been a mentor to other wildland firefighters since she became a squad boss in 2014 and she’s also helped members of her structure department get into wildland fire careers.
