Brad Shea - Sound Editor
Hi, my name is Brad. Full-time, I am a Construction Supervisor, and recently, I became a volunteer firefighter in Southern Ontario. I also volunteer as a Crisis Responder. This unique opportunity has taught me the importance of crisis intervention, and why we need to shine a light on mental health. My background is in audio engineering, and that education and experience has led me onto the Multiple Calls team.
This podcast has been crucial to my journey into the fire service. Scott's approach to amplifying various topics and issues has widened my perspectives of the fire service, and laid a foundation of core expectations for myself to carry into my career and in life. It pushes all the fantasies of wearing "the shirt" aside, and brings wearing the reality into focus. I'm excited for the future of what's to come.
Matt Pletz - Marketing
Hey, Matt Pletz here. I am the owner of @PremiumMixMarketingCo and I also am a volunteer firefighter in Ontario, Canada. I help Scott & crew with the branding, video & visuals for the podcast. I’m honoured to be a part of this team and to act as an amplifier of the message.
Before becoming a regular listener, I assumed that the podcast would likely be about fire tactics and training. One of the first episodes I listened to was the interview with Aaron Fields of Nozzle Forward. My mind was blown. Legit. I didn’t expect that a simple conversation about life between two like-minded people would impact me so much. I became enthralled with hearing the stories and wild obstacles that other firefighters have conquered that challenge mind, body, and soul.
I find that most folks don’t talk about the “real stuff.” How often do you ask a friend or co-worker how they’re doing? I mean, how they’re REALLY doing? Rarely do we share how the job impacts our realities and our state-of-mind. Rarely do we talk about the sacrifices we make for the well-being of our families. I love that we’re all collectively working to change this.
This podcast has challenged me to not only become a better firefighter, but a better and more ‘complete’ person. My hope is that it does the same for you.
Hailey Green - Administration
Hailey is a rookie at a full-time department in Southern Ontario, Canada., with experience as a rural volunteer. She’s passionate about firefighter fitness, mental health, resiliency, and lifelong learning. She became involved with the podcast after connecting with Scott after becoming a regular listener, we both share a passion for firefighters’ overall well-being and Scott was a great mentor to Hailey throughout her journey to full-time. She enjoys connecting with aspiring firefighters to mentor them in the application process and achieve their fitness goals that allow them to pass the testing required for this profession. She’s excited to pursue roles in teaching/mentorship and training first responders to be fit on and off-duty; both physically and mentally. Being part of the podcast team has allowed me to connect with other firefighters who have a passion for the profession, continuous learning, and the health and well-being of firefighters and I help out with the administration and logistics for the podcast.
